High Mission Trip
The youth of Our Saviour's United
Methodist church are extremely involved in missions. Each
summer, over 50 of our youth and more than a dozen adults
spend a week on an incredible mission trip. In recent years,
we have traveled to Ohio, Michigan, Oklahoma, and even as
far as Mexico to offer assistance to churches, communities,
and families in need. We have built sidewalks, painted,
cleaned, hung drywall, installed insulation, mudded, taped,
and landscaped. Last year we helped refurbish homes in Grand
Rapids, Michigan in low-income areas of the city with the
G.R.A.S.P. organization.
Of course this is only the highlight of the mission efforts
put forth by the youth of this church. Each year we are
involved in numerous local, regional, national, and global
events as a way of reaching out with God's gifts and talents.
Last year, one of our youth went on an amazing mission trip
to Liberia to work with UMCOR in spreading God's word! The
major fund raiser for our mission trip is parking cars for
Septemberfest.
