The Fourth Sunday Food Fund
It is with a very grateful heart that I update you today regarding the ministry done this week because of your generous hearts. The Fourth Sunday Food Fund has received almost $5000 in the last two weeks. As I have stated, this situation in our community isn't going to be solved any time soon. We are making a difference. Tuesday we were able to deliver warm food to the PADS site in Elgin. They, in turn, delivered 42 meals to the people staying at hotels. Yesterday, we dropped off over $700 of basic food items to be available to the township as they pre-pack boxes to have available for the shut-ins they have helped in the past and anyone who comes to them hungry. They continue to get pre-boxed food items from the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Steve, staying in the car and acting as my chauffeur, and I are shopping twice a week. Tomorrow they need soup, pasta sauce, canned fruit, canned meat, peanut butter and jelly, and rice. I told my friends there that we are praying for them, and she replied that they needed them and were grateful. The two pictures are the items we delivered and the people picking up today at the township building. I love my church family.
